Mountain Retreat

We took our annual retreat to the Georgia mountains to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. I hiked on my own for the first time!

On the trail to the highest point in Georgia, Brasstown Bald.

The weather was windy and cold, but the brisk hike and my rabbit hat kept me toasty warm!

We made it to the top!

Beautiful views of the mountains in three states.

After hiking back down the moutain. Look how high we were!

Feeding chickens at a strange, charming (and expensive) restaurant in the middle of nowhere.

My seat at the campfire circle outside our cabin.

Swing time!

More swing time with Dad on the perch above the creek.

Relaxing and playing dominoes with Dad

My second hike of the trip on the Aska Trail. Following the white diamond!

Scaling these steps to great heights.

And finding usually plump trees...

Braving the river...well maybe not so much braving, as holding onto Dad for dear life!

Later in the weekend, we explored downtown Blue Ridge and enjoyed the spring-like weather.

Walking the Blue Ridge Rails with Dad.

A great family weekend escape and adventure!

A Very Regal Halloween

This year, I decided to dress up as a fairy princess for Halloween. Even though the weather was unusually chilly and windy, Mom, Dad, and I had a blast at the neighborhood block party. And Dad and I burned the midnight oil trick-or-treating with my new friend (and fellow princess) Charlotte!

Check out my costume...

...complete with Shirley Temple curls and oodles of accessories!

With Mom, the cat.

With Dad, the policeman.
These two are going to have to try a little harder next year. Two years in a row with the same look? Geez.

The neighborhood princess brigade!

Parading to the block party.

Inspecting the candy  for my fellow trick-or-treaters!

Off we go to collect the loot!

Pumpkin Pickin'

We were sad to miss the annual trip to Burt's this year. Fortunately, our church youth group organized a great pumpkin patch near home. We found a perfect, jack-o-lantern-worthy pumpkin!

Dad and me, on the hunt!

This one makes a great seat, but it is not "just right."

Found it! The perfect pumpkin!

Static

Mom, Dad, and I headed out to the park on a warm fall weekend.

Nothing says a great playground slide like static electricity!

Big Girl Furniture

With the new baby on the way, Mom and Dad decided to move my dresser into the nursery and get big girl furniture for my room!

Dad and me, taking on the IKEA furniture building challenge!

Boo at the Zoo!

Even though Mom and Dad forgot my costume for "Boo at the Zoo" this year, I still had a great time and collected A LOT of treats!
Dad and me, feeding the birds.

This guy got a little too close for me!

I met some cool new friends and collected some candy too!

Uncle David and Miss Tiffany's Shaker Village Wedding

We made the drive from Atlanta to beautiful Shaker Village in October to celebrate Uncle David and Miss Tiffany's wedding. The weather was gorgeous, and I had a fantastic time exploring and visiting with our extended family!

Uncle David, Dad, and me, headed out for adventure.

Heading back to the Family Dwelling to get ready for the rehearsal dinner

Our digs

I got to spend time with a lot of family members, including Great Pap...

and Great Gam...

And of course, my cousins. Triple threat!

Playing hide-n-seek with Abigail before the rehearsal.

Dinner was delicious and Aunt Tiffany's decorations were gorgeous!

Wedding day! Breakfast at the Main Dwelling.

Grammy came to celebrate with us too!

And Aunt Cady stopped by for a visit as well.

Just a few of the great family members that came for the big day.

Great Pap kept all the cousins entertained!

Wedding time! Grammy and I dressed to perfection for the big event.

My dad and me, looking sharp.

Meeting my cousin Julian for the first time.

The ladies!

Cousin Mia and I are ready for the reception.

My friends Mr. Randy and Ms. Casey made it to the party as well.

We had so much fun dancing the night away.

We wrapped up the busy weekend with an 80th birthday breakfast for Great Gam!
